About this rating

Raw average: 1.67/5 from 6 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Sarah is very smart and very kind, but she just doesn't grade at all. The semester is officially over, with my final exam turned it last week, and I still don't have a single grade in canvas. As a student, how am I supposed to know what I'm doing if she never grades anything?

Sarah Lord is a great person and knows a lot about math but I feel like her lecturing led me askew quite a bit, and when we should've been doing interactive activities to really learn the concepts, we were either reading them in a textbook (which is hard for me to learn math/theories from reading about it) or being lectured in class for too long.

Overall good lecturer. Sometimes she goes in too deep to the content, but it's just because she wants us to truly grasp it. Takes FOREVER to grade, though. I wished I had more feedback throughout the semester. Very mindful of student's lives, however.

Sarah is a nice person, but this class was horribly executed. Everything was graded on a 1-4 system, 4=100% 3=75% 2=50% and so on. Grades dropped significantly with any score below a 4 even if it was due to minor mistakes. Grading criteria and expectations were very unclear. Grades weren't entered until the 11th week. The workload was overbearing.

I did not recieve a grade from this professor until 4 weeks before the end of the semester and although revisions were possible, unclear grading criteria left me with a lot to do in 5 days and the other half of the class had the entire semester. She is a nice person outside of the classroom but the setup and execution of this course was heinous.
