Professor Enstad makes an already interesting course even better by incorporating current issues with the curriculum. Some of the projects are actually fun, and a refreshing break from long papers. Discussion is the most important part of the course and if you care about social justice and food systems, you'll do well and enjoy the course a lot.Rate My Professors ↗

The content of this class was interesting, don't get me wrong. Nan is not very understanding of students, and her feedback is vague and frustrating to incorporate. Often, if you want to do well, you have to resort to many of her own views. I asked for clarification on a feedback point and all hell broke loose. Just know what you are getting into.Rate My Professors ↗
Class has a lot of busywork and it's not very focused, but it's also not super hard and it is pretty interesting.Rate My Professors ↗
Nan is a nice person, but she is not the most accommodating or understanding of students when they need extensions. There is a lot of busy work and her lectures are unorganized.Rate My Professors ↗
Waaaaaaaaaay too much busywork. Like, A LOT of busywork. She is a really tough grader, especially for an elementary-level course. Do not take this class as an easy A.Rate My Professors ↗
Remember every horror story you ever heard about incompetent, out-of-touch academics who basically exploit the power of their position to harass and abuse students? They aren't just stories--Enstad is the proof. No room for intellectual exploration, only regurgitation of her half-baked political beliefs. Those who don't comply, pay the price. AWFULRate My Professors ↗
