About this rating

Raw average: 4.89/5 from 19 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

She is an amazing professor with really the best intent for her students. Lectures are very interesting and exams and midterms are all in class essays with the final being online. She is so kind and definetley the best professor Ive had so far.

I love prof powers. Such a sweet woman who wants everyone to do well in her class. Sometimes the lectures were a bit dense but she makes time to turn and talk and have whole class discussions which breaks things up. The class has a ton of reading, but it is 4 credits after all. Go to her office hours if you have questions - she is kind and helpful.

I took CHICLA 151 and I was not expecting to like the class at all because I normally hate history, but I loved this class! She only gives a weekly reading and a paragraph response for homework. She grades on participation. She really cares about her students and gives extensions if you need them. I would 1000% recommend.

Great Professor! You can tell that she really cares about her students and tries her best to help them. There is a few hours of reading per week but it is very doable, the TA's are great at running the discussions. A great class to take even if you aren't a History major.
