I love Zhu Lao Shi. She is super kind, and you can tell she wants the best for her students. Learning a new language is always going to be difficult, but having her and the other TAs be so supportive makes it much easier. I hope to have her for the rest of my Chinese learning journey.Rate My Professors ↗

Took this class as my undergrad Chinese major capstone- I'm surprised this class was open to non-grad students; she seemed caught off guard that there were undergrads in the class. Graded on simple weekly discussion posts and one final project. Lectures were boring and based on readings for grad students, making them irrelevant for undergrads.Rate My Professors ↗
Zhu Lao shi is overall a nice teacher, and good at teaching chinese. Although she only teaches directly on Tuesday, and Thursday due to other committments she has with other classes. The other lectures are taught by a TA. There is homework every day, although most of it can be done within 20-30 minutes. There is also unit tests every two unitsRate My Professors ↗
A delight to have this semester! She is a wonderful teacher, great at making difficult concepts accessible and being available for individual questions. She cares about each individual's success in the language and puts a lot of effort into making sure lectures make sense and are understandable. Hope to have her again for my next Chinese class!Rate My Professors ↗
The course is super well organized and the powerpoints are super detailed/helpful. The reviews we have before tests are also super helpful. There is so much homework which is a struggle, but she and the TAs go easy on the grading. They also give ample extra credit opportunities.Rate My Professors ↗
Efficient, descriptive lectures. I feel like I learned a lot in a short amount of time. She was amiable and explained grammar patterns very well. She was an absolute delight and was able to teach difficult concepts without seeming condescending.Rate My Professors ↗
