What you’ll be able to do
Function in Chinese in some familiar social situations (e.g., making recommendations, conducting an interview, leading a discussion, describing a book/movie, narrating one’s experience, etc.).
Connect sentences to provide information on some familiar and abstract topics (e.g., cultural differences, social issues, gender issues, etc.) and to describe events and say their opinions.
Summarize the main idea and some details in talk and authentic texts that contain mostly familiar vocabulary.
Analyze and use various styles such as spoken vs. written styles, formal vs. casual styles, etc.
Analyze some cultural similarities and differences between the target and their own, as well as the diversity within each culture.
