About this rating

Raw average: 4.50/5 from 4 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Professor Hennessy is an interesting lecturer who clearly cares really deeply about the topic. There were plenty of guest speakers that also helped keep things interesting as the semester went on. She truly cares about her students and is accessible outside of class. However, her rubrics can be a little vague and the assignments can be frustrating.

I enjoyed learning from Professor Hennessy in Global Environmental History this semester. I think she is a great instructor, but her expectations on some of her assignments (like tests and papers) were unclear. I feel like I struggled with them and I shouldn't have- the content was easy enough for me to understand.

I took Anatomy with Professor Hennessy at Santa Monica College during the summer session. It was a lot of work in a short amount of time, but Hennessy makes it understandable. She takes attendance and participation seriously, and if you show up she is more than happy to help you. She offered extra credit too. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

I would highly suggest taking any class you can with Professor Hennessy. She puts a lot of work into making her lectures interesting and informative. It was one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. The only downside of her class was that there was a lot of reading involved.
