Lectures were very disorganized, and it's clear that Dr. Pyle's hasn't been teaching the course for a while (I'm sure they'll improve over time). Learned more about certain issues and got a broader understanding of issues regarding each topic/module. Heavy reading sometimes, but all quizzes and tests were online.Rate My Professors ↗
Pretty disorganized and not a clear structure to the class, but the class was easy and I had fun in it. Lectures were completely optional, discussion required but very light. Discussions mandatory, lectures were absolute free for all. Async exams was absolutely heavenly for someone who struggles with distraction during tests. You could very well survive by just going to discussions and making sure to care about the very few assignments that were given.Rate My Professors ↗
Class was an easy A but Pyle is the MOST disorganized professor. Unclear + delayed grading and constantly canceled office hours. I'm very liberal but there was clearly only one correct (very liberal) opinion in this class. Do not pay for the books the library has them. Class was overall very easy, but prof was not very organized and did not give clear instructions for some assignments - which was frustrating. Two required books that are interesting and then other online readings provided. Lecture is very participatory, almost more like a discussion. Nice enough for the class, but this was their first time teaching the class and I could tell. The class will be better in future semesters, I'd say, when they get more time to organize/structure it.
