Though he doesn't run the class, John Walsh's discussions were very beneficial as he explains the concepts very well. That's why the majority of the class showed up even though attendance wasn't graded. He tries to make otherwise boring concepts interesting with case studies and examples. Overall, John Walsh is a good teacher in a boring class.
Walsh is a very engaging discussion leader, and he shares a lot of his own legal experiences. Walsh is a lot better at explaining the concepts compared to Harms or Pelletier. But be warned, Walsh expects participation and will cold call. So be prepared for class and have your required name tag on your desk!
Bus law is a rough class, but Walsh makes it a lot easier. Funny guy with great real life examples.
Very average professor that is very overconfident about his abilities. Business Law kind of sucks honestly.
This is a tough class, but Walsh makes it a LOT easier. He specifies exactly what's most important for exams, and he really cares about his students. Do read the cases (and watch Harms' lectures, if possible) before you come to class: he expects participation. And come prepared with questions to the last discussion before an exam. Highly recommend.
Makes the online lectures and course material understandable. Approachable and great resource for this course. His discussion section is a must.
Harms class is pretty difficult with lots of subject matter so take the discussion with John Walsh. He talks though every legal element in an easy to understand way and truly ensures there is significant learning. He was also very friendly and nice and was sure to cover everything before any test.
Walsh is the best TA I've had - fun, helpful, etc. He's only limited by the fact that he has to cover SO much material each week. His average grade is higher than the other TA so try to take it with him if you can. Definitely try to get to every discussion you can, they will help on the tests. Best part is he tells you what to focus on.
Great TA!! Really helpful and clear. If you're taking Business Law try to get Walsh as your TA; your chances of getting a good grade in the course will increase greatly! He's super nice and willing to help his students out in any way possible.
Walsh is the best! If you don't choose him for your BusLaw TA then it is your loss! Even if you don't enroll with him initially, he allows anyone who wants to to switch into his discussions. He is clear, efficient, and totally cool. His students do the best on exams and its not a coincidence. His is the most worthwhile discussion in the B school.
John is amazing! He's extremely clear on the material and does care about helping each student learn it. He's engaging and is very interesting to listen to, and is very willing to help out outside of class with learning the material. 100% recommend him, definitely try to get in his discussion! (he also lets you in even if you aren't signed up!)
best TA I've had. He is the best that teaches business law. Make sure to get him. Don't insult his ties though. He reminds me of a genial old lawyer Matlock type but not quite as old. He is a really awesome guy!
