He's very kind and overall not a bad professor. His lectures can get slow. Esselman is probably a better option but it's not the end of the world if Hermans is the only time slot you can attendRate My Professors ↗

Honestly, a 2.6 seems quite low for him. I enjoy his lectures; yes, they're premade but it's laid out very clearly. I think he genuinely cares about how his students, it's just up to you to reach out for help. He's a nice guy and doesn't make you feel stupid when you ask questions. I would be in his class for ochem 2 if I could. He's a solid 3.5Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Hermans wasn't the best lecturer, and you could tell he was just reading off the pre-made slides with little care to effectively teach. He's not very enthusiastic and just doesn't seem to care about his students or their standing in the class.Rate My Professors ↗
This professor did not act like he wanted his students to pass. I would not recommend.Rate My Professors ↗
Not to be harsh but Prof Hermans was the worst lecturer Ive ever had. He taught OChem off of a powerpoint slide, sped through important content calling it obvious, and called out students in class for asking for help/a study guide. He ripped dad jokes a lot which I appreciated but I highly recommend taking a different professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Hermans rarely draws mechanisms on the board, but instead uses powerpoints as the main teaching tool. He is very knowledgeable about the subject, but blasts through the slides way too fast for anyone to get anything useful out of lecture, even if you looked at the slides before class.Rate My Professors ↗
