Great lectures, easy exams, and learn a lot if you put in the effort.

Honestly the professor himself is pretty nice; however, when it comes to the exam, I had no clue what is going in while studying for it. Not much workload for the whole semester, and if you understand the concept in the lecture it is not too bad. I wouldn't say highly recommend this class, but if you really want to take it it's still doable.

Lecture is awful and cannot speek english fluently.

Really not good at giving lectures. You will be more confused after listening to him. Also grading is arbitrary and not clear. Avoid.

Arbitrary grading: did not ever give us a rubric for the group project even when people asked him too on Piazza. His syllabus looks like he made it in 5 minutes on google docs. Lectures were impossible to follow and instead of ever explaining himself he would always say "check the slides". Worst professor I've had in my 4 years at UW.

I think Yiqiao's good if you ignore the lectures. The homework felt fine, the tests were fine, and he is flexible about deadlines as well as accommodating the class relating to homework and projects. The lectures, on the other hand, are terrible. Partly due to how he lectures and the material, but be prepared to learn the topics yourself.

Assumes everyone knows what he's talking about. Reads from the slides and does not explain important concepts.

Not well prepared for lectures and does not speak English fluently. Vagur description and rubric in homework description.
