About this rating

Raw average: 4.50/5 from 16 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

STAT 479
Quality 1/5Difficulty 5/5
The course content this semester is highly cutting-edge; however, the teaching style and course materials are abysmal, making it difficult to find the key points. The exams and assignments are designed for graduate students, with little consideration given to undergraduates students. Requires amount of time outside of class.

Very good professor. You can learn a lot, including your writing skills. His rubrics seem challenging but doable. Spend time -> good grades

Quality 4/5Difficulty 1/5
Class was beyond a joke. 1 test (Midterm) 1 all encompassing project. After the midterm you can abandon the lectures and be just fine. Kris is a good professor and teacher but the class is crazy.

STAT 436
Quality 5/5Difficulty 2/5
Kris is an organized, well-spoken professor! The class follows a flipped format: you learn mostly from the readings (do them!) and then the lecture is a demo. It's very easy to scrape an A in this class without caring much. However, the material is interesting and very valuable. Dig deep, have fun, and learn what you want to learn.
