The class I took was very introductory and I think anyone could get an A if they wanted to. All lectures were streamed, and then avaliable as a video later (although sometimes he's bad at posting these). It's hard to know what to take notes on but there's no final and only one assingment a week. He's very knowledgable.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Robertson is very lecture and test heavy. You have 7 quizzes throughout the semester that make up almost your whole grade and everything on the quiz is supposedly from the lecture. If you miss lecture your quiz grade will drop dramatically and stuff is only covered once, so you'll miss half the quiz questions making it hard to get an A.Rate My Professors ↗
Robertson seems like a good guy and knowledgeable in his field, but, this class was just mid. The test questions are worded poorly and are so confusing and ambiguous, that I would fail them even though I paid extremely good attention in class and am otherwise a 4.0 student. My grade in calc 2 was way higher than this class, if that says anything.Rate My Professors ↗
He is incredibly knowledgeable and adds some humor to lectures. GEOG439 was one of the most interesting classes I've taken. I learned SO MUCH but that came from the heavy time commitment of reading and assignments. With how he structures the class you get out what you put into it. Dr. Robertson is very hard to reach outside of class, uses slides and readings that are 10+ years old, and assigns many assignments that end up just being busywork. This course content is really fascinating, and he is very knowledgeable but I would only recommend if you are interested enough to outweigh the organizational issues with this course.Rate My Professors ↗
