Professor Hansen is one of the best teachers I have had. She is incredibly knowledgeable and offers interesting insights in class. She also cares deeply about students, and even though the lecture can be long, I always learn something from what she teaches. One of my favorite classes of all time. Theres a lot of reading but thats pretty much expected from the history department and the material is really interesting. Shes not the greatest with technology and sometimes gets a bit off topic in lecture but overall you can tell shes really passionate about the topic and cares about her studentsRate My Professors ↗
Hansen was very nice, but the grading system was harsh. Weekly writing is required, but if you cannot come to the class (regardless of the situation) you are not allowed to turn in your writing, which has a huge impact on your grade. This seemed excessive, since the writing was based on the readings and not on anything covered only in class.Rate My Professors ↗
Her lectures are very disorganized and difficult to take notes for. Her slides are too bare for the dense content that she tries to teach. Every week we had about 100+ pages of reading. Her grading criteria was not clear so it was very hard to study for the class. I regret taking it.Rate My Professors ↗
Anne is a super sweet lady. I had her as a FIG professor so I got to know her better than students who have her for a big lecture. If you are a decent writer her grading is super easy. She teaches religious studies so obviously there's gonna be a lot of reading, but it is super managable.Rate My Professors ↗
