About this rating

Raw average: 4.50/5 from 4 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Shiva is a wonderful professor, the material may be challenging, but he guides you through it. He is very open to questions about material covered and truly cares about your learning experience. However, the way he presents material is through derivations coupled with some example problems. This may be tough to learn from for some.

Shiva only ever goes through concepts. You will spend the majority of the period learning how to derive and apply equations, however will NEVER go through an example problem with them. Some may find it useful, but for those who need examples to really learn how to apply the equations, I suggest a different professor.

Professor Shiva really cares for his students. He is extremely helpful outside the class, and the class is very well structured. Though the textbook sucks but the lecture notes and the solution manual that you can find online for the homework helps a lot.
