About this rating

Raw average: 3.40/5 from 25 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Quality 3/5Difficulty 5/5
Very very smart guy; however, his lectures are average at best. Moves quite fast, and there's an overload of information that doesn't get explained super well. Often gets distracted by his own research interests and takes up lots of lecture time on this, which is interesting but not necessary helpful for exams. Exams are impossibly difficult.

Quality 2/5Difficulty 5/5
Professor Stahl is okay at lecturing. He likes to go on tangents quite a bit, and it is hard to follow sometimes. There is a lot of material to understand. His way of teaching is not very effective at helping you to understand it. He strives for the class to average a 50% on exams. They are normally pretty hard exams. Extremely intelligent guy.

Shannon is extremely smart and is fairly decent at coming down to the student level when teaching. He does talk very fast and can be hard to follow in lecture sometimes. Exams are tough

Quality 5/5Difficulty 4/5
He dumps a lot of material on you at once, but he breaks it up with fun life advice tangents. You have to pay pretty close attention during lecture to get anything out of them. His exams are a lot of synthesis - both compounds and class material. You kind of learn while taking them. The class is rough, but Stahl is cool.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 4/5
Very intelligent, with a knack for getting students excited about science. But along with this, exams are highly challenging and really test not just how well you know the material but also how well you can integrate and expand upon it.
