This was one of my favorite classes I have taken at Madison so far. Professor Deitz tried to remember everyone in the lecture's name. He is a great speaker and offers great insight into Global Health as a whole. I went into his office hours and he is very personable. Definitely recommend taking this class if you plan to go into healthcare!Rate My Professors ↗

M. Deitz is a super cool guy, an effective instructor, and a great person. Classes involved a lot of discussion and cold calls, as well as memorized presentations that were nerve wracking, but they were graded generously and dramatically improved my speaking French. Overall this class is not difficult if you apply yourself to pre-class readings.Rate My Professors ↗
Genuinely a fun dude who excels at teaching and engaging students. Class is a bit much in how many things you're expected to learn/know but that's kind of the expectation for a fifth semester language. Only thing that was tricky was that a large percentage of your grade (like a lot) comes from memorized speeches given in front of the whole class.Rate My Professors ↗
Loved Professor Deitz, the class covered the francophone world in relation to humanitarian aid and I got a lot more out of it than I thought I would. He was an amazing lecturer and classes really felt like an open conversation.Rate My Professors ↗
His lectures were very engaging and the reading and course material was very interesting. There are 3 written essay exams that are graded relatively easy as long as you did the readings and watched the videos. There is one short presentation based on a reading that you must do without notes from memory. Otherwise, this class was very interesting!Rate My Professors ↗
Good teacher, cares about his students. Easy class. Only thing that I will say is he doesn't show your grade on CanvasRate My Professors ↗
