This professor is one of the best at the University of Iowa. He genuinely cares about your learning and provides fair grading with helpful feedback. The class includes many discussions, so if you're not comfortable speaking up, it might not be for you. Overall, a great course with an excellent professor. Rick is a terrible professor and I regret taking this class with him. He's excessively controlling during lectures and inhibits free conversation by keeping his finger on the mute button and requiring people to raising hands on zoom. I have never observed another professor do this, and its extremely counterproductive. Very strange for an MBA class.Rate My Professors ↗
I really liked Rick's Foundations in Strategy class at University of Iowa (MBA level). He's a nice, down to earth guy and all he cares about is that you're showing you "get" course concepts. He's not concerned with writing style, etc for case briefs. He keeps you engaged/on your toes with polls and other creative ways. 10/10 would take again.
Seemed like another lecturer's class format was used, and he didn't check all the quiz questions for quality. He tried hard to keep online classes engaging (hard thing to do). Rick genuinely cares about his students and does his best to help. He and graders follow assignment rubrics very closely. Participate in online sessions to max your grade.Rate My Professors ↗
I had Rick for MHR 300 and thought he was really nice and easy to listen to. He seems like he genuinely cares about his students. The concepts of this class were fairly simple, and the textbook material was really easy to understand. We had discussion posts, responses, and quizzes every week, but they were very easy.Rate My Professors ↗
