About this rating

Raw average: 2.75/5 from 8 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

As others have mentioned, she teaches this class as if everyone has taken calculus before. She spends way too much time on simple concepts and nowhere near enough time on topics that actually need it. Her class is fine to take if you've taken calculus before and have some kind of background knowledge, but otherwise do not.

Srivastrava is okay, you can tell shes real knowledgeable and also will take the time to explain something to you if you dont get it, but theres nothing that stands out in particular as an exemplary teaching trait. Wouldn't shy away from taking another course with her, but I wouldn't necessarily be overly exuberant to

Rajula taught the class as if everyone in the lecture had previously taken Calculas. The practice problems in class moved very quickly and offered little explanation to solutions. Discussions were the most helpful in learning material and studying for quizzes/tests.

Rajula is an incredibly intelligent person, however, she was not very good at teaching concepts. I came from a pre-calc background, and was learning a lot of things for the first time. I would come out of lectures extremely confused and ended up having to reteach myself majority of the concepts. Use the MLC if you want to get a good grade.

I liked how she made the classroom atmosphere light! She was great at articulating her words during lectures. Her slides pace were a bit fast, but she always went back and gave up class time for midterm/ exam review. Overall, she was great (coming from someone who has never taken calculus).

Past student reviews · Rajula Srivastava

Rajula Srivastava was described as caring and articulate, maintaining a light classroom atmosphere. She provided class time for exam review, and one student found discussions more helpful than lectures for studying.
