I also had her for 240, and she is nice but SO bad at lecturing. She never gets through her slides, so you end up having to watch hours of supplemental lecture videos outside of class. The lectures were easy to follow along with; taking notes and actively participating is very important for actually understanding the material though. Misha was great; she is energetic and passionate about what she does, and this clearly comes through in her lectures. Lectures are fragmented and often go off-topic, making it hard to understand chapter structure. Exams cover hundreds of textbook pages, while slides do not reflect exam content. The cheat sheet is due five days early, limiting its usefulness. TA review sessions were far more helpful. Expect heavy reading and self-teaching.Rate My Professors ↗
CS&D 240 is the last class i'll ever have to take with dr. finney but oh my god i will not rest until this woman changes her canvas habits. misha, if you're reading this: let students see their quiz answers. let them turn in their cheat sheet later than 5 days in advance?? let them have scratch paper. hours will be saved. the world will rejoiceRate My Professors ↗
Prof Finney was awesome! You can tell how passionate she is about the subject, as she presents information with an upbeat, interesting attitude. This class requires a good amount of individual studying, but Prof Finney made it easy to stay interested and provided a lot of useful study materials throughout the entire course.Rate My Professors ↗
