Dr. C is possibly the best professor I have had. Her teaching is stellar. She is kind and engages with the students well which facilitates learning of difficult concepts. Exams are hard but fair. She offers office hours that are a blast, and provides many study resources. Her material is interesting, and she clearly wants students to succeed.

I was really intimidated by this course as a conservation bio major with less preparation for a microbiology course than other students. I felt that every lecture was engaging (although often dense) and Melissa had a way of communicating everything in a clear manner. I now love this subject which is not what I was expecting going into it.

(This is actually for MIRCO 150). Melissa is very knowledgeable and an all around wonderful person. I genuinely feel like I learned a lot from her class and from her personally. The only thing I didn't like was that you never quite knew what exactly was due. You just kinda have to play it by ear and email for clarification quite often.
