One of the worst teachers I've had so far. Lectures are extremely boring, include excessive readings of around 65-75 pages to read every week, and have very strict grading that makes it hard for people to get an A. Many people take it for the ethnic studies requirement, thinking it's a free A, but with Leah teaching it, it's the opposite.Rate My Professors ↗
Lectures are incredibly bland, consisting of storytelling and MANY videos. "Expected" to read 60-70 pages of material per week outside of class and answer 8 discussion questions. You got the exam bank before, so if you prepared, it was just regurgitating. Some interesting guest lecturers, though. Boring class, boring professor, but pretty easy.Rate My Professors ↗
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, she assigns 50-75 pages a week to read and you have to write questions corresponding to them. The exams are free response 6 questions in 50, but she expects you to write a novel and pick out of her brain the exact example she wants. Overall pretty standard easy class. Attendance was monitored through random pop quizzes. You don't have to pay attention to lectures at all. The information you'll need will be through weekly reading questions. 2 exams but other than that it's pretty chill with no homeworkRate My Professors ↗

Professor Horowitz is passionate, but she ends up preaching her beliefs about the subject, which gets old fast. She should teach the concepts and ask students to draw their own conclusions. Basically she doesn't teach critical thinking; she teaches following someone else's (her) beliefs. It's easy to do well, though, just repeat whatever she says.Rate My Professors ↗
