Professor Grossenbacher is the department head and has been teaching this class for over 30 years which means she has a lot of knowledge to share. She doesn't grade easy, but the grading is fair and makes logical sense. Attendance isn't mandatory which is nice, but it's extremely helpful to go to lecture. You will learn a lot. Definitely reccomend.

Expect a challenging but well-structured class. Grossenbacher is an expert in her field, though her grading is strict; students should be prepared to work hard for an A. She places a high level of importance on the impact of ethics/communication in engineering, which is reflected in the heavy workload and high expectations for student engagement.

Laura Grossenbacher is an incredibly fair professor. She is very passionate about what she teaches, and wants to see her students succeed. This being said, her class requires reasonable effort. She knows how to differentiate student writing from AI, and will call you out on it.

Laura is amazing. She pushes you to your best and nothing is given with her, but she wants nothing more than to help her students. She gives a lot of really good feedback and that combined with a class that is not necessarily hard just a lot of work, it was a really good experience

This class will be what you make of it. If you are diligent in your efforts, you will appreciate the feedback and tough grading from Laura (compared to other professors). You REALLY have to earn an A, only take this professor if you want a healthy challenge!

Prof Grossenbacher is damn good. She was clear and very helpful with every part of the course. She is very frank about everything which just means she'll be honest with you and you can be honest back. Couldn't ask for a better EPD teacher- this is a class that you need a good one for.
