About this rating

Raw average: 4.30/5 from 50 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

The slides can be very filled with information. You have to complete 3 out of 4 writing assignments and weekly readings. Lecture can be sometimes boring. This class is not hard nor an easy A. I found the multiple-choice questions to be difficult for no reason, but the short-written questions were easy. I barely passed with an A. Don't recommend.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 5/5
This course often felt driven by a strong political and ideological agenda rather than balanced discussion. It made it difficult to share different viewpoints. I also experienced grading issues where correct answers were marked wrong, significantly lowering my score until I had it reviewed. This made the grading feel unreliable and frustrating.

I loved Kristy! she was so caring and genuinely invested in the material she was teaching. The only negative I would say is that she didnt update canvas regularly (or ever really) but there werent alot of assignments, and her lectures made you want to listen and be attentive in class. Would reccomend to anyone!

Kristy is one of my favorite professors so far and her class I took was a very good entry level class. I loved how applicable the content was to other classes and my everyday life.

Me and my partner had the understanding that we didn't need to attend the lecture times due to us attending a lot of meetings. She then went behind our backs with our grades after telling us we could make us the "missing assignments" for attendance points (we attended meetings during class time) even though other peers said there were none.

Professor Burkholder was very kind and lectures were interesting. Only issue with this class is that the two exams were substantially more difficult than any of the weekly quizzes, journal reflections, etc. Would recommend that students dont underestimate the content as exams are multiple choice & short answer formats.
