Passionate, caring, and witty. Class is run seminar style and it's pretty go-with-the-flow. Lots of reading, but the conversations about said readings were always in-depth and enjoyable. Literatures of decolonisation are, by their nature, heavy to deal with, but Prof. Sides did a fantastic job. Kind and accessible outside of class too.Rate My Professors ↗

Kirk Sides was a wonderful professor and I genuienly looked forward to his class each week. This was my first college English class (needed a literature credit) and I truly feel like I got so much out of this class. Definitely reccomend!!!!Rate My Professors ↗
One of the reasons I took this class is because of how well Kirk was rated on this website; I will say it is true of how passionate he is on the topic, it shows through his discussion during lectures. However, I will say to enter this class with some strong experience in writing (as there's a midterm and final paper) that he grades a little harsh.Rate My Professors ↗
