Long, unorganized, boring lectures. So many readings (~150 pages per week). Discussions were fine, and grading was light. Two fieldwork projects that weren't that bad. The entire class felt like busywork, and I was never engaged. She was lecturing her last semester before retiring so she probably just did not care though

Class was very easy and Prof. Bowie was a very interesting lecturer, only problem was she instituted a mandatory 150 question in person final which was very hard. Lectures were also impossible to take notes on due to how Prof. Bowie structured them. Due to how easy the rest of the class was though, it was still not that hard to get an A.

Dr. Bowie was not as bad as people say, but she does fall into the category of "just alright." Tends to ramble, and lecture slides are impossible to understand if you are not present to hear the context. Readings were pretty long at times, but most all assignments in the class weren't too hard. Felt like busywork. Not an unsatisfying ethnic class.

One of the worst professors I have ever experienced, makes an ethnic studies elective much harder than it should be. Unnecessarily hard 150 question final exam that she brought out only for her last semester of teaching (~1/5 of questions were about herself). Be glad she is retiring.
