About this rating

Raw average: 4.26/5 from 42 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Very caring professor. Put extra effort into helping me with different obstacles and takes time to know and invest in his students. Gives lots of opportunities to improve your grade. Doing the exercises to completion will help you succeed. Prof. notices if you are putting in extra effort and is helpful in return, which is always nice.

Fun class. There is no piazza for the course which makes it really difficult to ask questions.

Quality 4/5Difficulty 4/5
The content was good, but there were midterms and exams in a class that was extremely project heavy. It didn't really make sense to have exams because it was a lot of fill in the blank code and conceptual questions, when the class was entirely application based in the projects that compounded together over the semester

The content was very enjoyable, regardless of Joe being difficult to work with at times. He sometimes understands certain situations, such as exam conflicts. I still believe he is a very difficult professor, but the content in this course is very useful.

Krachey hands down is the best professor in the department. The class is a lot of work and a lot of coding, but is really interesting and super practical. I never felt like the assignments were unfair, and grading policies were super kind. It is important to show up - If you go to class and put your best effort in on every assignment, you do well

I went to his office hours and he always have a tired face. He is impatient and make you feel like you are asking stupid questions. One of my friend went to office hour and ask about solution towards failure on his homework grade and he told my friend: "There is nothing I will do. Just drop the class." I feel very discomfort with this professor
