Prof. Detlor has a pretty generic teaching style. Although the other professors seemed to have higher averages and more engaging lectures, her class was perfectly alright.Rate My Professors ↗

I felt like the lectures in person really didn't help, and I noticed a lot of people (including myself) just stopped going to lectures and would watch Jeff Hanson. In my opinion, she doesn't spend enough time explaining how to solve the examples, and instead just clicks through the problem during the lecture, which really isn't that helpful.Rate My Professors ↗

Detlor is a good lecturer, but she doesn't actually work through problems and instead shows the equations and final answers without going deeper. Homework assignments can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the topic and often go beyond the scope of lecture. You also learn how to use EES which has no relevance on exams.Rate My Professors ↗

I've missed Prof. Detlor every day since having her for statics. She goes through concepts thoroughly in a straightforward manner. I have heard she isn't super accommodating of emergencies, etc. but she clearly cares about student success and making learning a good experience.Rate My Professors ↗

Good lecturer who uses her time well and explains things clearly. However, she is not at all understanding of extenuating circumstances, and she did not respect my accommodations. I would not recommend if you are a McBurney student.Rate My Professors ↗

If you can talk to her individually she is very helpful when solving problems, but its hard to initially learn when the examples given in class are pre-solved and are the example textbook problems, meaning we get like 1 example per topic. TAs also weren't very helpful. The HW took forever some days with concepts we never discussed in class.Rate My Professors ↗
