I loved having Irene! She really helped me move to the next level with my Italian. She is so patient and willing to re-explain and do what it takes to help you understand. She also makes class fun and does what she can to mix up the classes so it's not monotonous and boring. One of my favorite Profs!Rate My Professors ↗
Easy but helpful class. You can tell Irene loves Italian and teaching. She is super understanding if you don't come to class, but always try to make it (participation counts for a huge part of your grade). Really sad she isn't teaching 102.Rate My Professors ↗
I had her for Italian 102, and she is by far my favorite Prof. so far. She is really good at explaining anything you don't understand, and her lectures overall are really great, involving pictures, speaking, conversations, etc. I struggled at the beginning of the semester, but caught on pretty quick!Rate My Professors ↗
Irene is one of the best instructors that I have had at UW-Madison. I had her for both 101 and 102. She presents every new concept in class very clearly. She is very understanding, accommodating, and caring. There is a fair amount of homework, but it is essential to the class. Irene was the perfect Italian professor. She is clearly fluent in Italian and has found the perfect way to teach first-time Italian speakers combining the perfect balance between lectures, conversational practice, and grammar/vocab activities. I think Irene is an absolutely amazing Italian teacher. She is so clear when teaching new concepts and creates a super welcoming environment for students to try out the language.
