I actually like Prof Becker. I've taken both his 431 and 521. He is a very responsible professor, always helpful outside class. I think it would be fine that he make some mistakes when doing proof, cuz that is what everyone doesRate My Professors ↗

Lectures were very unclear. He would often miss-prove theorems and have to rewrite them a few times. Homework is moderate level. Exams are moderate to difficult depending on how well you followed his material in class. Must be able to take concepts from class and use them abstractly to create own proofs for exams.Rate My Professors ↗
He made so many mistakes during lecture that studying my notes was extremely frustrating because I was never sure what was right and what wasn't. He's unorganized and doesn't think enough about what he's writing down to make sure its right. He doesn't try the homework problems before he gives them to you, so they can be tough. Do not recommend.Rate My Professors ↗
Wasn't clear in class, wasn't helpful out of class Exams were way harder than expected based on class work and homeworks and explanation of what he said was going to be on the examRate My Professors ↗
awful handwriting. lectures are exactly following the textbook which means if u can learn well by uself from the book, u probably can get a good grade. Exams are a little bit hard due to combining the knowledge of previous mathsRate My Professors ↗
His handwriting is not organized at all and barely readable. lectures follow the textbook written bu UW Madison Math Department tightly, but exams are extremely hard. You will need plenty of extra help to learn the course materials. Most examples he used during lectures are from the textbook. That means that lectures are of little help.Rate My Professors ↗
