She is awful. She is very rude and disrespectful at times. When students ask questions, she usually tells the student they should know that or you will have to look that up. Her test are extremely hard. I took calculus 221 at UW-Green Bay and got an A. I retook it at UW-Madison because I wanted to be sure I knew the material, I got a C.Rate My Professors ↗
Did not know what she was doing the entire semester. Very inconsistent in grading and didn't allow for regrades even when it was obvious the grading was incorrect. She instead accused me of cheating. Very inappropriate for an instructor to do. Quizzes tend to be more questions than exams. Very difficult to finish in time given.Rate My Professors ↗
The lectures are taught clearly and the homework clearly reflects the lectures. She also gives time to ask homework questions where she gives tips on starting proofs. However, the exams are NOT easy with all three averages in the 60's this semester. Study all the material well and memorize how to do all proofs for the exams.Rate My Professors ↗
She's a pretty strict grader on tests and homework assignments were thorough to say the least. Her lectures are beautifully organized, but she moves through material so quickly you often miss out on explanations. Tests were incredibly straight forward, with questions always coming from homework (which she reviews during class) or lecture examples.Rate My Professors ↗
At first Dr. Offerman's introverted nature makes her seem hard to approach. However, once you get through that serious facade she is a kind and caring lady. She is not really clear when it comes to describing her lessons and her lectures are very complex with not a lot of time to digest the information. Go to her office hours!Rate My Professors ↗
Most of class time is extensive note taking and examples. NOT a lot of time taken to explain things, major concepts and their relevance to the chapter . I dropped into my friends' 221 (non-offerman) lecture to check it out, and I was not overwhelmed by examples because the teacher paused to reinforce concepts. I learned so much more.
