About this rating

Raw average: 1.24/5 from 25 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Probably one of the worst instructors on campus. Instead of teaching us the content, he assigns YouTube videos for us to watch which are insanely complicated and difficult to understand. He assigns a ton of homework every week, doesn't release adequate practice material, doesn't tell you the grade boundaries, and administers four total exams.

Please avoid for your sanity. I enrolled into the class with curiosity about the subject, and I am now finishing up realizing he managed to make me hate it. LOTS of homework (due before exams) where python is used (python knowledge is not a requirement), exams are impossible to finish and there are hard proofs.

The grading criteria are unclear. He DOES NOT tell you your grade until after the end of the semester! Smart person, but didn't enjoy his teaching approach.

I was in the other section, but it seems like he is in charge of the tests. As an undergraduate this 3 credit course felt like a poorly organized 5 credit course. I came expecting to take notes in lecture, rather we watch youtube videos and try to figure out the homework and activities. The tests are incredibly hard and the proofs are insane.
