I really enjoyed Dr. Meindl, and while his final was moderately difficult, he gave us enough assignments and points throughout to make it doable. If you prepare yourself for the final, it will go well. He really cares about his students, and I would absolutely take another of his classes.

Friendly, flexible, passionate, and very clear he cares about students' learning. Offered enough opportunities for points so tanking the final won't fail you. Answered all our many questions, never made us feel bad for it. Wish I could retake this class already!

The best way to describe George is that he really seems to care. About his students, about what he is teaching, and about forestry at UW. As a student, you have to earn his respect by showing that you care about your learning and not just grades, but if you do, working with George is easy and enjoyable.

Excellent professor. Very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He makes it welcoming to participate, and he's very helpful during office hours. The exams were a bit tougher than I expected but tbh it's very fair for a 3 credit class, just gotta prepare. As someone who had no prev knowledge of forest ecol, this is a great class!

Overall an ok and funny professor but would assume you weren't in class and didn't look at his asterisk slides if you got a question wrong and wanted an explanation on it. The grading for the case studies was easy but tests were a little harder. Also posted the rate my professor in front of the class when it was made which I though was a little odd

George is a great and inspirational teacher. Very approachable and nice sense of humor. During lecture he gives students time to think about questions without giving away answers right away. The case study prompts have been very wordy/confusing and challenging to fit on one page, but he is fair in grading them. ***ALSO he's in FWE dept, not biology
