Professor Seidman is very approachable and wants you to succeed. At the same time, she teaches from a very limited perspective and doesn't really introduce alternative viewpoints and perspectives. Powerpoints are a jumble of article summaries and pictures without clear progression. Often goes on tangents and is generally just hard to follow.

Professor Seidman is very intelligent and has a genuine passion for teaching. It was one of the bests classes I've ever taken. I always left the class with so much knowledge. If you do not go to class it is hard to catch up since her class is mostly discussion-based.

Professor Seidman was super nice and always in a good mood to teach. You can tell she is very knowledgeable and loves what she does. However, the lectures seemed a little disorganized at times and she downgraded me for not knowing things/"reflecting completely" on things that weren't discussed in class.

This class was definitely different compared to other sociology courses I have taken. Dr. Seidman was very clear on her grading rubric and very flexible as well as responsive to questions on clarifications. Lectures are heavily discussion based and there were lots of readings for class assignments.

Right from the beginning, it is clear that she knows much about the subject. She values student input and encourages participation. The class atmosphere was very relaxed, and the majority of the weekly work was to complete online readings. Grades were determined by written exams and papers, all of which had generally loose prompts and good feedback

Prof Seidman was very exciting, lively, and passionate about the topics. She clearly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She even brought snacks for us to the midterm and final exams! Lectures are interesting. overall pretty good class and experience.

I really enjoyed Professor Seidman this semester. She is very knowledgeable. She was very lenient with due dates and criteria for this class especially for it being a Comm B, we only had to write two two page papers and one ten page final paper for the whole semester. There was a lot of weekly reading but we weren't graded on it

Awful professor. Does not allow opinions to be expressed that she does not agree with. Gets very defensive and cuts you off if you make a comment that she does not like. Also goes off on constant tangents during her lectures that usually have the simple goal of bragging about where she has travelled and the people she has met. Utter waste of time.

Seidman is an extremely intelligent woman, and knows her stuff when it comes to development. Her lectures are very opinionated; she's probably the most liberal professor I've had on campus (which says a lot on a liberal campus), but her intelligence gives her a lot of credit. She goes on tangents a lot, but the material assigned is very interesting

Professor Seidman is absolutely brilliant. She made class discussions fun and worthwhile. Assignments pushed me to learn, and she was extremely open to help at office hours, after class, etc. Would love to take a class with her again.

Prof Seidman demonstrated the ability to explain difficult material clearly through weekly discussion posts online. Class was very interesting and I highly recommend her as a professor.

Really cool professor and interesting class! A little intimidating at first but definitely worth taking. You'll learn a lot, and you really get a chance to think about the topics, rather than just trying to memorize facts.

I loved Prof Seidman. She's really enthusiastic but she's fun, too, and brilliant. She has the most amazing stories to tell (maybe explains the tangents) and SOC 210 isn't that difficult, even if it is a bit of work

prof seidman constantly goes off on random tangents that are irrelevant to the reading material and the tests. the tests are based on the reading. she speaks so fast that you cant follow what she is saying clearly and her slides do not match up with what she is saying. its not too hard to get an a based on your ta but the lectures are frustrating

She is brilliant, and you can learn a lot from her through her use of experiences beyond the course material. High energy, engaging.

Easy class, she is a little "goofy"

could not follow. confusing.

Prof is ok but fast talker and refers to many stories, books, articles and theories but still interesting. My t.a. was great and really helped me with my writing and to understand readings. Cynthia G (ta) was super smart and interesting and made sociology seem important. Difficult ideas made easy to understand and she gave lots of feedback and time

Really easy class, went to half the lectures and still got an AB, two exams and a paper determine grade, she does go off on tangents though, tough to follow at times

She didnt know how to work technology, and went off on rants and tangents a lot. Lectures were hard to follow and randomly organized.

Interesting, not a hard course if you like social science.

I was really looking forward to this class, and she just ruined it. I asked her a question after class one day and she blew up at me and made it very clear that my opinion was of no importance to her,and that she was smarter than me in all respects. Her lectures were disorganized vague regarding main arguments - tended to get caught up in tagents.

Seidman is by far the worst professor on this campus. Stay away at all costs. She teaches nothing and all are forced to listen to her. STAY AWAY!

She wasn't the most exciting professor, but she knows her stuff! She's very friendly, and was willing to help if you needed it!

She really knows what she's talking about. If you have questions, she's more than willing to clarify. The exams are easy, but there's a lot of work for her sociology 210 class (mostly readings and a huge research paper).

She is incredibly smart; therefore, a lot of the things she says are interesting. But she talks really really fast... I guess the easy exams make up for it
