Emily is one of my favorite professors at Madison. She presented the material in a way that was easy to understand, engaging, and involved students in both discussion and research. The assignments were super interesting too. Cannot recommend her enough!Rate My Professors ↗
Dr Fletcher is super nice and was really great. She was very accessible, helpful, and understood the material really well. The course was reading Plato's Republic with a couple of essays and a small group project. Overall, not that hard but a great experience.Rate My Professors ↗

Boring, avoids class discourse, knows philosophy but only by the book. Didn't go to any of her lectures past the 2nd week we had her; reading the material, some google, and the discussions were enough to do well on the papers. Her slides are less than helpful. The grading criteria on the papers are unclear. Discussion attendance is mandatory.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof. Fletcher took over for our old professor 1/3 into the semester. She is very passionate but the class content is super confusing at times. Class is graded by 3 papers which are difficult to write, but there aren't any other grades in the book, so make them count. You're supposed to read for class but can get away with not doing the readings.Rate My Professors ↗
Emily is a wonderful instructor, bright personality, and brilliant philosopher. Shes unendingly flexible, gives great feedback on papers, and really knows how to design and run a class. 556 is feminist phil and it was obvious that she METICULOUSLY designed the syllabus and thought of everything.
