Derrick is a very chill professor, with a somewhat quirky, dry humor. I had ART222. Most of the class he gave us the prompt and some vague direction, and then let us loose to paint, with the ability to use him as a resource. Beyond amazing - doesn't make you do annoyingly specific projects. You guide your learning and use him as a resource. I look up my instructors art before and after taking a class, and I got a new vibe from his work after having him as an instructor. He's quiet, yet awkwardly funny.
