She's the greatest of all time. She's clearly extremely passionate about teaching not only Hmong, but the traditions instilled in the language for generations. She's also very caring and works to build relationships with all her students. It's clear she loves what she does.

She is truly the best and wants everyone to succeed! Easy class with minimal work.

Professor Choua is an amazing professor. PLEASE KNOW A LITTLE HMONG. You will be stuck on many things if you do not know much on reading or writing Hmong. She goes through the information quickly, attendance is a grade, and go to her office hours if youre stuck. Lots of info, but just study and her grading is lenient. you'll be called on too hehe.

Had Professor Chong for ASIALANG225 AND 226 in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. She's proficient in the language and the culture however, I don't know if I really learned what I wanted to learn. If you're struggling it's best to reach out to her. I did well only because everything was remote. It might be a different story if I had her in person.

Grading system is unclear I'm Hmong myself but can't spell and speak it well She teaches this super fast and it was hard to catch on, u have to study a lot but not a lot of hw. Quizes are ok bc they're short but exams are hard bc u have to remember a lot. A bit unorganized and ends class late often. NOT AN EASY A but enjoyed it. She's understanding

IF YOU DON'T KNOW HMONG OR ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH IT, DONT TAKE THIS. If you do, there isn't much work and tests are laid out. But, Choua is spontaneous and her directions for assignments are not very good. She is however, a pretty cool person if you want to build connections with Hmong faculty members.

DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. SAVE YOURSELF. Professor Choua does not teach you at all. If you have no prior Hmong experience, you will struggle. She is not a good professor.

I enjoyed Hmong class with Xibfwb Cua; she really cares about her students. Just show up to class (or attend office hours if you missed class), do the assignments, and it'll be a GPA booster. Some people say she talks too much about herself, but I've come to appreciate it. That's how knowledge was passed down -from stories and sharing experiences.

She gives a lot of chances for you to improve your grade! Care about the class and try your best to participate. She likes to talk about her life a lot but I find it enjoyable. I don't speak Hmong much but she's always very willing to help. The projects make up most of the grade. You do need to study for exams but she tells you what will be on it.

she was good. But tends to talk a lot about herself.

I enjoyed Hmong Semester 1 a lot. Professor Choua is funny and helpful. It's quite an easy class to get an A if you just show up and participate. Study a little here and there, and you're okay. It could be a little harder for those who haven't practiced the language before, since she starts to talk mostly all in Hmong beginning the second week.

Xib Fwb Lee teaches the Hmong Language. She is really helpful and funny, in her own ways. The class is fairly easy and very participation based. It focuses more on the language and grammar than culture, so if you are looking for a specifically Hmong culture class, this isn't it. Lots of chances to practice dialogue so you can't be afraid to speak!
