About this rating

Raw average: 3.40/5 from 5 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Dr. Pattnaik is a great person, but his class was frustrating and left most of the class confused. There was little organization of learning and material was hard to follow. The most perplexing part of the class was exams. Taking exams felt like solving puzzles and a lack of graded materials made doing well on exams pertinent to doing well overall.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 4/5
Very poor teaching methods and grading in class. The professor offered no resources to learn, and all grading was based off of his very muddled lectures. Additionally, he writes very ambiguous and unclear exams that can be difficult to understand what any given question is asking for. Would not recommend as you have no control over your own grade.

Bikash is a really good person, his class is interesting and fun. Not a lot of effort is required for a good grade.

If you're reading this, you're probably in Professor Pattnaik's FIG. He is very passionate about what he teaches. He's a super sweet guy, though at times grading criteria was unclear (I would venture to say this is because he cares more about learning vs grading). Ask or email him your questions and he's happy to answer. 10/10 would recommend.

He is one of the best professors. Very understanding, kind, and puts students first. Pay attention to lectures because mid terms and exams are based off of them.
