About this rating

Raw average: 4.12/5 from 8 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Fantastic professor, very accessible and nice. If you ever have questions or need extra help he is always happy to meet outside of class. Highly recommend!

The readings may be long and dry at first, but they pick up after the 3rd week or so. The class is mostly based on discussion about that week's readings and the class is somewhat heavily graded on participation. Overall, he's an engaging and highly motivated professor that has a passion for teaching and the law.

Professor Desai is an excellent and knowledgeable professor. He is also very helpful and accessible outside of class to answer questions. There were weekly discussion posts and two essays. My only complaints for his class were that there was A LOT of reading and the grading criteria for the discussion posts and essays was somewhat unclear.

Quality 1/5Difficulty 3/5
He assigned hundreds of pages of incredibly boring reading each week. The class is a two and a half hour discussion section and participation is 40% of the grade, but most of it is him rambling on tangents because it takes him forever to finish a sentence. The term paper expectations were unclear, the class was unorganized, & he was always behind.

Prof. Desai may be a good lecturer for Law classes, but not as interesting or clear in Library Science. It was pretty disorganized and kind of boring. He is smart, but not a very good teacher

Cyberlaw is a wonderful class. The cases are very interesting, and the challenges the internet poses to settled law are really highlighted. Anuj knows what he's talking about, but reiterates too much. The class loses its pace later on, but the material stays interesting. Papers aren't hard if you are a confident writer.
