  • Write admitting and daily orders (EPA 4)

  • Justify orders based upon working diagnosis and cost-effectiveness (EPA 4)

  • Complete written patient evaluation using standard format

  • Write daily progress notes including assessments and plans using standard format

  • Present initial patient evaluation including assessments and plans

  • Based on case load, develop clinically relevant questions to further individual and team learning

  • Give and receive patient handovers (EPA 8)

  • Write transfer notes and/or discharge summaries (EPA 8)

  • Communicate effectively with interprofessional team members (EPA 9)

  • Collaborate with consultants and other providers to coordinate patient care (EPA 9)

  • Identify a critically ill patient and whom to notify to get help (EPA 10)

  • Discuss how to call a code and roles of the different code team members

  • Obtain informed consent for appropriate intern procedures (EPA 11)

  • Perform intern procedures with minimal supervision (EPA 12)

  • Summarize patient's hospital course during rounds and manage day to day care.

  • Present current literature to support patient care.
