About this rating

Raw average: 5.00/5 from 4 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Tom took over the second half of Path-210 and greatly enhanced my understanding of the global context in which the HIV/AIDS pandemic took place. Great class, engaging lectures, and very insightful and established professors. Exams are straightforward, but the grade is made up of only three + attendance points, so be sure to study.

He teaches Path210 with Dave, and they were the best! Super well establised in their field, class had some scientific content but very accessible for even non-STEM majors. The course is super up-to-date and very interesting. A few reading for every class, and graded based on attendance and 3 midterms. Great class for new UW students.

PATH210 is an honors only course which was nice because the class was very small and the lectures were more like discussions. It wasn't a very difficult course (one of the less sciencey bio credits), but the only things scored were the 3 multiple choice exams, so it was important to study for those. Both Tom and Dave were great professors overall.
