I began this class leery because she tends to assume everyone is in it for the ethnic studies credit and that no body cares about the material. This being said, she loves when you ask thoughtful questions about native american culture and show interest. The readings aren't necessary every class period, but I usually find them really interesting.Rate My Professors ↗

She is very opinionated to the point of bashing other tribes/reservations. It really bothered me that she was so critical of/ didn't seem to know much a about feminism for a class that is cross listed as Gender & Women's Studies, additionally it seems like at times she assumed we as students were anti-American Indian, which left me very frustrated.Rate My Professors ↗
I've never had such a disorganized, contradictory, and opinionated teacher. She bases many things on her own tribe (the blackfeet) but seems knowledgable enough in most concepts of American Indian Women. Brushes off questions to keep rambling on. Very often says "oh I forgot to bring ___ this time, I'll bring it later". 2 papers, 1 midtermRate My Professors ↗
She is a bad professor but knows the information she goes ON AND ON about. Rude and disorganized. 3 tests with no clear grading criteria. Final was a paper that she just made up for the first time this year and had LITERALLY NO grading criteria. Expect some work for an A but it is obtainable. My recommendation is just don't bother taking the class.Rate My Professors ↗
Theresa was my favorite professor. She only had short readings for each class and all that was required was a single notecard describing what you read. She loves participation and that is the way to earn her respect. I'm not majoring in anything related to the class, so my feedback is not biased. Very easy class.Rate My Professors ↗
She's probably the worst teacher I've had at UW-Madison. Doesn't understand technology and babbles on about stuff that could be made up for all we know. She contradicts herself constantly and is a harsh grader of work that shouldn't be graded harshly.Rate My Professors ↗
