He came back to teach, and I'm glad he was the one lecturing: he is knowledgeable, experienced, and makes the content easy to understand (as if any of it is hard at all). Reading and reflections were not difficult, and the field trip was an easy way to get credit for one of the reflections. Tests are doable but a bit harder than you'd expect.Rate My Professors ↗
He really knows what he is talking about. The lectures are tedious and can be very boring, but every once in a while there is a lecture that will be interesting. You have to get a 92 in the class to get an A which sucks. This class is also some common sense, but also a lot of memorization. The exams are doable, but not easy. He has so many relevant experiences in the field. The contents in the lectures are interesting, especially those involve in his personal experiences. Papers are fairly easy. The only thing is, he's pretty mono-toned, so lectures could be really boring.Rate My Professors ↗
Glad that he's back teaching. Knows what he is talking about, articulates well, and communicates the relatively easy material well. Assignments are reading-based and field trips- not too big of a deal. Dramatically changed from previous years. Lectures are deceivingly simple; you need to know a lot of the minutiae/concepts for exams, especially from the book. And when most questions come with "all/none of the above", you find yourself guessing more than you like. Not impossible, but you need to put the effort in to get an A, so study a lot!
as a guest lecturer in Christopher Vaughn's extinction, i really enjoy Stan's lectures (more so than Chris's). i can see how people find him boring if they're not interested in conservation; however if you are he is a great guy to talk to!Rate My Professors ↗
