SARAH PAUL

Professor Paul is exactly what you would want out of a philosophy teacher. Even when the content is dry, she keeps students involved by posing good questions to the class and leaving lots of room for discussion. She represents all of the philosophical viewpoints covered in class fairly, and she allows you to draw your own conclusions.

I loved having Professor Paul as a teacher. She is extremely intelligent and encourages questions and discussion in lecture. She is a well-published philosopher and I loved talking to her.

I liked her; intelligent and interesting person. One thing I didn't like was when she said things like "this seems correct" to certain philosophies, even though she said she wasn't there to convince us to believe in a certain philosophy. Overall, very interesting and fun class with an above average professor. Didn't read, went to lecture, did well

Philosophy of mind is interesting, this class was not, primarily because she allowed discussion of inane topics to go on for far too long. She didn't grade our papers, even though it was an upper level class-- and we had no interaction with the person who was. She seems neat on a one-on-one basis, but just not so as a lecturer.

Her lectures were essentially her regurgitating exactly what was in the assigned reading on a powerpoint with zero clarification. She shut down class discussions and would only briefly entertain questions. Seemed like she had no clue what she was talking about and I didn't really learn much in lecture. I was constantly so bored.

Class was completely unnecessary, for she ran the 40-person course like an open discussion. The readings were fairly dense, and I hoped for some clarification, but I never found it. Showing up to class was completely useless, besides the fact that she grades based on attendance. Would highly suggest taking another professor.
