As a person, she's very sweet and understanding; however, I wouldn't recommend her as a professor. She doesn't record lectures, nor does she post the slides, so you have to do all the work by yourself. I have taken calc 1, so I skipped all lectures and only studied the previous exams and managed to get an A in her class.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't go to lecture, it will be hard as she doesn't post her slides on canvas. If I didn't have notes from lecture, I wouldn't have been able to pass. She rushes through a lot, and I learned more from youtube because she wasn't very thorough. She seems like a good person, but not a great prof.

Very good at explaining the fundamentals of calculus! Easy to follow along with her work during lectures and spends the right amount of time teaching each topic throughout the semester.

Attending lecture is pretty much required to get a good grade, it can be difficult to get necessary help if you miss it. Her lectures are pretty good though, she mixes stories and humor in to get you through. She's a very nice person too, though it can be hard to understand some of her explanations and get help outside class.

Grade for 221 was basically three exams: two midterms and a final. However, Professor Li gave out plenty of examples in lectures and explained concepts clearly. Make sure to go to discussions though if you want even more examples to get a better understanding on everything that was taught in lectures.

This was Professor Li's first time teaching a Calc 1 class... it showed. She rushed through lectures and made a lot of mistakes while lecturing. I got more out of watching YouTube videos than attending her lectures. She did not go in-depth with the content like would be expected of us on the exams. Nice person, but not a great professor.
