Math class in a philosophy department. Strict grading, no curve, exams get harder and most can't finish. The handouts with actual philosophical substance get skipped because there's no time, semester is all procedural drilling. Readings are one T/F quiz item per week unrelated to exam. Course unchanged for a decade. Use past materials to prepare.Rate My Professors ↗

Course is designed down to a science. Some readings are mandatory, others are not. Quizzes become increasingly difficult. Problem sets are consistently difficult. Exams are generally difficult. Generous grading for all assignments. One can reference an enormous catalogue of past content for additional help. The course is extremely rewarding.Rate My Professors ↗
Logic changed me. The most well-prepared class ever. Peter gives clear lectures throughout the semester and there's little confusion about content if you pay active attention to class The last 2 weeks' content is challenging, so work on more problems. A very uncommon question appears on the final, but if you do RECENT past exams you should be good.Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Vranas has designed this course to be more difficult than those taught by other professors and it is very rewarding. A student who seeks to gain a sound foundation in logic and is willing to work hard towards that end should take this course. Earning an A is rare but very possible and it is also very difficult to earn less than a B.Rate My Professors ↗
Professor Vranas is great, but this class in itself was the most challenging course I have taken in college. Do not take if math doesn't come easy to you.Rate My Professors ↗
