Professor Marshall is an amazing teacher and all-around human. It's so clear that she not only cares about her students, but loves her job teaching. I took 346 last semester and followed her to 107 this sem. She's funny, very reasonable in grading, and so approachable. Go to her office hours! She hands out chocolate!Rate My Professors ↗

Professor Marshall is a very passionate professor who covers all aspects of art very well. The assignments were not too difficult, but were very thought provoking and enjoyable. The tests were a lot of memorization and not too stressful.Rate My Professors ↗
Prof Marshall is so kind towards her students, and the whole class was fun. Easy assignments, clear grading criteria, as long as you show up to lectures and discussions this class is an easy A. I would definitely recommend this class for an ethnic studies, or even just as a schedule filler, super easy and entertaining.Rate My Professors ↗
Really well spoken and passionate on the topic. Interesting lectures and fills her time well. There's not a lot of assignments, but she does want you to do well. I really enjoy her class and would recommend for anyone- especially those interested in history and art historyRate My Professors ↗
Professor Marshall is probably the best professor I have had at UW so far. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the material, and lectures are always fun and interesting. Highly recommend talking to her outside of class if you have the chance, she is super personable and genuinely interested in what you have to say.Rate My Professors ↗
She was a great lecturer and passionate about the class. Her requirements for an 100 level class were too much (eg memorizing over 50 works and their details). Something I found annoying was that in exams there was no room for any personal interpretation. It was purely if we could guess the themes that she thought connected works.Rate My Professors ↗
