MATT VILLENEUVE

Overall Prof. V is very passionate and knows what he's talking about. I took this class both because it an ethnic studies and because I thought it would be interesting to add as a history major, which Prof. V just convinced me even more. Very easy to talk to in office hours, and only assigns two monographs to read for the semester. Very fun class.

Prof V is amazing! He's so passionate about the topics we discussed. There is a little bit of reading, but it's nothing crazy. Not a tough grader. We discussed the books a lot in discussion, which was VERY helpful for understanding and writing papers. If you go to class, you WILL get a good grade. Prof V makes it easy to learn!

Took History 460 with Professor Villeneuve last fall. While he was engaging, kind, and knowledgeable, the class was not what I expected. Prof has a philosophy background, and it made the class feel more like environmental philosophy than environmental history. Lectures were interesting, but unnecessary; didn't need lecture info for assignments.

I took him last semester and he was a really great professor. He genuinely wanted to see students succeed and I have never seen a professor so passionate about their class. He was always in a good mood and his content was very interesting and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend.

American Indian Studies 100 was very interesting, and he is a super great, passionate lecturer. The grading makes it very easy to get an A. The tests are all online and open note but can be kind of tricky if you do not organize the material. There is a lot of material, and it is not super clear cut on what will be on the test.

His lectures were decently interesting. Overall it was a pretty easy class. The only thing is the way they chose to do grading in the class. Once you understand it it makes sense but at first it was very confusing what you did or didn't have to do. The weekly quizzes, midterm, and final were also very specific and were honestly pretty hard.
