His lectures are outstanding! However, his in office personality could use a bit of work. He holds high expectations and if you don't meet those expectations, he has a tendency to turn condescending and nasty. The same personality trait holds when asking for help. If your question is a little basic, he gets fairly annoyed fairly fast.

Awesome professor. Explains everything very well and expectations are made clear. Problem sets almost every week, but they're not too bad and are helpful for the exams. Exams aren't too bad if you study the problem sets and derivations. I suck at math, but I really enjoyed this class and Mahanthappa is a really cool guy. I definitely recommend him!

Could be the best professor I've ever had. Very passionate about the material, explains it very well. Lectures are very interesting, keeps you engaged. Does a great job of supplementing lectures with demonstrations.

Amazing professor. Chem 109 is hard and can be overwhelming, but Mahesh explains the material very well. Would have done much worse had i had another professor for 109

Fantastic professor. Like everyone said before, a little more effort than you'd expect should be sufficient for an A. I had class w/ him over 2 years ago, and studying for my MCAT right now, I feel extremely prepared and remember more than I thought I would thanks to his detailed course. It moves fast, but it's worth it.

Great professor. Very clear and to the point. His exams are fairly difficult but there is usually a curve. Amusing because he does demonstrations every lecture. Take him for Chem 109
