His lectures were very hard to follow. The exams reflected content we had barely even focused on. Once I went into office hours for help and he was pretty much unable to understand my question and give me the help I needed. I would not recommend this professor.Rate My Professors ↗
Leith was visibly uncomfortable in the large lecture hall, and used the words "essentially" and "fundamentally" to the point that it was difficult to understand his lectures. He over-explains simple concepts then skims over what the class is struggling with. Leith needs more confidence and preparation for class in order to be a good professor.
Exams are ridiculously more difficult than the material he covers in lecture, and there is no good way to prepare. Consequently, class is skewed towards those with prior knowledge. Exam questions are confusing and riddled with mistakes. He is also very petty, and makes exams questions more difficult when he feels disrespected by the class.Rate My Professors ↗
He was terrible. So awkward all the time, it got to the point where I learned less by actually going to lecture. He was so behind on lectures and the tests covered materials that we didnt even learn! I would recommend switching or dropping if you see that you have him.Rate My Professors ↗
If you are looking for an experienced teacher who clearly defines what is expected of you and is a solid lecturer DO NOT TAKE CHEM 104 with Samad. He brushes over important concepts but spends time on irrelevant material (once spent 5 min explaining that the hw due date would be switched).Rate My Professors ↗
The only good thing about this class was its curve. Generally, Leith Samad should not be a lecturer. He knows the materials well, but has a hard time presenting it well. He is very redundant and reiterates things that does not need to be. We often got behind on lectures, and many students did not take him seriously.Rate My Professors ↗
