About this rating

Raw average: 4.10/5 from 10 quality ratings. The adjusted rating blends this with the UW review average (3.66/5), weighted as 20 additional ratings. Smaller samples stay closer to that average. Each captured review is counted once in the prior; this does not correct who chooses to leave a review.

Slavic 275 isn't a breeze, but Professor Evans-Romaine makes it clear she cares and would like to help. She is accessible in office hours, clear on her feedback and has a clear and deep understanding of Russian, and is genuinely a caring and funny professor. There are numerous opportunities for bonus points and to show growth -- would recommend!

Really nice and caring professor. LITTRANS 205 is obviously very reading-heavy but it's spaced out pretty well. There's like four exams throughout the semester and every test has opportunity for PLENTY of extra credit points. As long as you do the readings, this class is a breeze.

Really kind and caring professor, clear and interesting lectures and easy to talk to. One criticism is that the class focused too much on history as a literature class imo, other than that she's great.

She's a great prof. LIT Trans 205 is very reading-heavy. but not a lot of homework or exams! The quizzes are not too hard. This class is great for a lit credit and I am learning a lot

Listening comprehension course. Grading not really based on learning that specific skill, but on how well you already know Russian. Lose points on 7-9 hr take-home exams for grammatical mistakes or phonetically correct transcriptions w/ wrong spelling, or on "pictures optional" presentations for not including pictures! Arbitrary and demotivating.
